The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating smooth revenue cycle management. This role requires a strong understanding of medical coding guidelines, insurance claim processing, and electronic health record (EHR) systems. The Medical Biller will play a crucial role in optimizing the financial performance of our practice while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Candidates with a background in medical office operations, proficiency in billing software, and knowledge of
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding, and DRG are highly preferred. Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using billing software and EHR/EHR systems Review and code medical records utilizing
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding, and DRG guidelines for inpatient and outpatient services Ensure compliance with medical coding standards and billing regulations Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through third-party insurance companies and health plans Manage accounts receivable by performing collections on overdue balances Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to billing Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities and medical records Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures as needed for accurate coding Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations Assist in reconciliation of payments received against billed amounts to ensure accuracy in revenue cycle management Experience Proven experience in medical billing with knowledge of
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding, and DRG classification Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health record management for billing purposes Strong understanding of health insurance claim processing and third-party billing procedures Experience working with medical collection processes and revenue cycle management strategies Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding guidelines for inpatient services is preferred Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is advantageous Ability to interpret medical documentation accurately to ensure proper coding and billing compliance This role offers an engaging opportunity for professionals committed to accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within the healthcare revenue cycle.
