In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately and systematically issue refunds for overpayments received from insurance companies, patients, and other payers into our electronic health record (EHR) and billing systems. Your expertise will ensure that all payments are correctly allocated to patient accounts, facilitating smooth revenue cycles and precise financial records. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient healthcare operations while honing your skills in Revenue Cycle Management. Duties Strong ability to review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements and remittance advice to verify payment details. Process high volume refunds to patient accounts with efficiency and accuracy. Reconcile payments with billed services, ensuring proper application to corresponding medical records and accounts. Identify discrepancies or underpayments and escalate issues for resolution with insurance carriers or billing teams. Ability to explain the thought process of decisions made regarding refund accounts. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all transactions, including deposit logs and reconciliations Stay updated on changes insurance policies, and billing regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy Experience Intermediate Excel Skills are a must Prior experience in RCM is required Medical office administration or healthcare finance is preferred Proven ability to process medical refunds efficiently within a fast-paced environment Familiarity with medical billing procedures and collection practices Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple accounts simultaneously Ability to interpret complex EOB and translate them into accurate billing entries Join us in delivering precise financial operations that support quality patient care!
