This position will be responsible for managing medical billing processes from claim submission through payment, including follow-up, denial management, accounts receivable, and resolving billing issues. The ideal candidate will have experience with medical billing and will be able to work independently while collaborating closely with our clinical and administrative teams. Experience with physical therapy/ health office, rehabilitation, or workers' compensation billing is a plus. About MINT Physical Therapy MINT Physical Therapy provides clinical, mobile, and home-based care throughout Northern Utah. Our organization specializes in workers' compensation, motor vehicle accident rehabilitation, and a variety of specialty services. Key Responsibilities Submit and manage medical claims to our payors. Review claims, payments, EOBs/ERAs, and account balances for accuracy. Follow up on unpaid, denied, rejected, and underpaid claims. Manage accounts receivable and maintain timely follow-up on outstanding balances. Research and resolve billing discrepancies and reimbursement issues. Prepare and submit corrected claims and appeals when necessary. Verify and prevent authorization-related billing issues. Communicate with lien companies, workers compensation companies, patients, attorneys, case managers, and other parties regarding billing and payment issues. Work closely with physical therapists and clinic staff to resolve documentation or coding issues affecting reimbursement. Maintain accurate and organized billing records. Identify potential billing errors, payment discrepancies, and missed reimbursement opportunities. Assist with improving billing processes and overall revenue-cycle efficiency. Qualifications 1+ years of medical billing experience required. Experience with outpatient physical therapy, rehabilitation, chiropractic, or other similar healthcare billing strongly preferred. Workers' Compensation billing experience is a strong plus. Knowledge of insurance claims, EOBs/ERAs, denials, appeals, and accounts receivable. Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to identify and resolve billing problems independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Comfortable learning and working with electronic medical records and billing software. Experience with Optimis or similar EMR/billing systems is a plus. Medical billing certification such as CPB or CPC is a plus but not required . Compensation & Benefits Full-time position. $20.00•26.00 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications.
