Job Description

Job Summary Company Description Under general supervision, the Deputy Clerk assists in maintaining records of notary bonds, births, deaths, and other documents. Must ensure documents and data are stored swiftly and accurately, and provide customers with efficient, friendly service at all times.
Job Description Primary Responsibilities:
Serving customers at the counter and assisting telephone inquiries Recording land records and property tax redemptions Issuing licenses and permits Typing correspondence, reports and other documents Creating and maintaining files, and organizing and filing various documents Data entry in various computer programs
Secondary Responsibilities:
Accounts payable back up Scanning and maintaining records of births, deaths and other documents Assisting in election administration tasks and capturing election data Receiving relevant fees and balancing a cash drawer Any other duties assigned by the County Clerk Qualifications High school diploma or GED Minimum of 1-year general office experience Technical proficiency and accurate keyboarding Land record knowledge will be an advantage Accounting skills helpful Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of information Valid driver's license Ability to secure a state notary commission post-hire (employer-sponsored) Additional Information Full Time, 35 hours per week. Office hours Monday -Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; 1-hour unpaid lunch $17.10 per hour 4% annual increases on 12/01 based on collective bargaining agreement Every 2-years receives step increase based on collective bargaining agreement 90-day probation period
