This position plays a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining compliance, and supporting the organization's operational and financial objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and experience managing financial processes in a healthcare or similarly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Financial & Accounting Management Oversee daily accounting and business office operations. Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial records. Establish and maintain financial recordkeeping systems, including ledgers, cash journals, deposits, and supporting documentation. Monitor and manage accounts receivable and collection activities. Assist with monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and income and expense reporting. Review financial data for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures. Prepare financial, statistical, and operational reports. Assist with annual budgeting, financial planning, cost reporting, and related reporting requirements. Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as needed. Analyze financial information and provide recommendations regarding operational and financial performance. Business Office Administration Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Ensure contracts, agreements, and financial documents are properly completed and retained. Utilize accounting software and reporting tools to support operational efficiency and financial reporting. Assist in the development, implementation, and improvement of financial systems and procedures. Monitor internal controls and compliance with established financial policies. Compliance & Quality Ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles, regulations, and organizational policies. Maintain confidentiality of financial and sensitive information. Participate in meetings, training programs, and continuing education opportunities. Support a culture of professionalism, accountability, and customer service. Assist with regulatory surveys, audits, and corrective action planning related to business office functions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Experience in accounting, finance, business office operations, or healthcare financial administration. Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized accounting systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. Preferred CPA designation or other accounting certification. Experience in healthcare, long-term care, senior living, hospital, or other regulated healthcare settings. Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement, cost reporting, and regulatory compliance.
