Front Office Supervisor

Job Description

The Front Office Supervisor provides leadership and support to the Front Office team, helping to ensure smooth daily operations and a consistently welcoming experience for all guests. This position serves as a leader at the front desk, assisting team members, addressing guest needs, and helping maintain the high level of service expected at the hotel. Responsibilities The Front Office Supervisor will: Provide guidance and support to Front Office staff to ensure consistent, professional guest service. Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, both verbally and in writing. Monitor lobby activity and assist with staffing adjustments as needed. Welcome guests promptly with a friendly and professional attitude. Complete guest registration and check-out processes accurately and efficiently. Assist guests with room selections and ensure room information and rates are communicated accurately. Process payments, handle cash, and balance an assigned house bank. Accept and properly record vouchers, travelers checks, and other forms of payment. Process foreign currency exchanges according to current posted rates and hotel procedures. Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts using the hotel computer system. Answer telephone calls promptly and professionally and assist guests with messages and other requests. Assist hotel guests with mail, packages, and other deliveries as needed. Maintain a calm, professional, and helpful demeanor during busy periods and emergency situations. Assist guests with questions, concerns, and complaints, working to find appropriate and effective solutions. Use sound judgment and previous experience to address unique situations and meet guest needs. Follow hotel procedures when providing revenue adjustments or allowances to resolve guest concerns. Serve as a positive role model for Front Office staff and other hotel employees. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with guests and team members. Ability to handle guest concerns professionally and work toward positive resolutions. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Basic mathematical skills. Ability to accurately access and enter information using hotel computer systems. Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced front office environment. Ability to stand, walk, and remain active throughout the front office area for extended periods. Ability to prepare and review reports related to room availability and hotel revenues. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma required. Some college preferred. Two years of combined front desk and supervisory experience preferred. Previous Hilton experience preferred. Previous PEP systems experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
