Oversee operations of TWC's retail gift shop, facilities rentals, and other sales opportunities. Manages day-to-day office operations and logistical support for various programs and activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Store Management Serve as gift shop manager; organize store and merchandise Create and monitor store/office budgets with the goal to reach sales targets and increase profits Operate and Administer POS System Manage inventory levels and purchase merchandise; negotiating lower volume price breaks Deal with customer service issues such as queries and complaints Work with our Development and Marketing team (DevMar) to create a visually pleasing and mission focused gift shop Manage and grow facility rental sales, including rooms and pavilions Work with DevMar to identify sales opportunities, target markets, and generate leads In charge of the stocking birdseed for outdoor bird viewing area Assist with greenhouse management and support the Native Plant sale Assist with sales and marketing for special programs and events 2. Volunteer Coordination Respond to volunteer inquiries and track in CRM database Supervise and schedule volunteers, when needed Volunteer recognition Tracking of volunteer statistics in CRM database Notification to department leaders about new volunteers 3. Office Administrative & Logistic Support Supervise gift shop clerk Ensure the building is properly staffed during special events, holidays, and weekends Monitor office supplies and office equipment maintenance Provide logistical support for programs and events Provide customer service and assistance as needed Manage and assign faculty for opening/closing duties Actively serve on TWC committees, when requested Provide on-site support for TWC special events and club activities as needed Manage phone systems as needed Provide basic IT support and consult with external IT provider as needed Emergency Preparedness planning including organizing CPR/First Aid Classes for staff Assist with onboarding of new staff members Assist on other projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Retail sales, business administration, and marketing experience Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to provide excellent customer service required. Provide a helpful, friendly and courteous disposition to members, visitors, and supporters Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with Point-of-Sale software and CRM database system a plus Occasionally required to lift objects up to 40 lbs., carry, bend and stoop Willingness to work flexible hours, including Saturdays Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment and adherence to Wilderness Center's mission and core values Must be able to pass a background check Must have a valid driver's license.
