Facilitate the efficient operation of the district's Elementary Academics office and provide clerical services for the district's Elementary Academics staff.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalency
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient use of personal computer with excellent software skills, including word, Excel, spreadsheets, file maintenance, and databases Effective communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) Basic math skills
Experience:
One to three years of secretarial experience, preferably in a public education environment
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Assume responsibility for the organization, operation, and distribution of work in the Elementary Academics office Collaborate with the Elementary Academics office and other departments and campuses Receive incoming calls for Elementary Academics, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff Schedule meetings, appointments and maintain calendar for Elementary Academics staff Work with local budgets by reporting balances, expenditures, entering all budget transfers, and all business transactions per district policies and guidelines Generate requisitions and purchase orders Assist with the Instructional Materials (IMA) process by obtaining quotes, entering, tracking, and receiving Collect, deposit, and maintain records of all monetary transactions Manage timesheets for curriculum writing projects, required training compensation, and special projects Maintain department records and files Order, receive, store, and issue supplies and equipment Sort, distribute, or deliver mail and other documents Monitor personnel time records to include sick leave, vacation, and special requests Make travel arrangements (for coordinators, teachers, and students in competitions) Assist Elementary Academics staff with securing rooms, scheduling, preparing handouts, and coordinating food/beverage needs during events Assist with needs, requests, and support for Elementary Academics teaching staff Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of Plano ISD and follow directives of supervisor Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor Perform other functions that may be assigned by the Administration and/or supervisor
