Job Description
Children's Home Society of California (CHS) is a multi-service, non-profit agency providing Early Learning and Education Programs in multiple counties in California. This is a Full-Time (37.5 hours), Non-Exempt Position Under the supervision of Children's Home Society of California's (CHS) Program Administrator III, the Program Associate will:
In conjunction with Program Management staff, conduct case management file reviews as needed, such as but not limited to, recertification files, intake files, and files for external compliance reviews/audits
In conjunction with the Program Administrator, provide constructive feedback to Case Management Staff in a positive and supportive manner
In conjunction with the Program Administrator, generate, and review, and complete compliance reports
Mentor Program Specialists in the delivery of case management services to eligible families, including certification, recertification, ongoing case management, and termination of services
Provide shadowing and coaching opportunities to Program Specialists
Monitor quality assurance and ensure contract compliance
Provide case management to eligible families and maintain assigned caseload
Manage a small to full caseload depending on the needs of the site
Provide temporary or ongoing coverage to caseloads
Conduct recertification appointments, as assigned
Provide technical assistance and resources to families and child care providers
Adhere to operations, best practices, and compliance with case management policies and procedures.
Ensure adherence and compliance to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Child Care Payment Program (CCPP) Manual, alerts, and transmittal memos and subsequent immediate adherence to Quality Assurance (QA) direction on policy and procedural changes
Ensure operations and services that uphold high quality services, protect the agency's reputation, and represent CHS in a positive light
Maintain all records in a high-quality manner and within record protection, retention, and destruction guidelines
Adhere to all agency policies and procedures, as well as applicable contractual and governmental regulations
Work some evening and weekend hours as required
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Human Services or Human Development, Early Childhood Education, or other field related to child development desired
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or Child Development field desired or Associates Degree plus three (3) years of experience required
Prior non-profit experience preferred
Experience with child development and/or early childhood education program preferred
Must possess skills needed to assess training needs, conduct research, and develop high quality trainings for a variety of audiences
Self-motivator with a strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible and positive attitude
Knowledge of California Code of Regulations Title 22 desired
Knowledge of local community resources and experience representing an organization in a professional capacity
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide variety of parents from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and support to peers
Prior supervisory experience desired but not required
Ability to prepare and present effective written work, provide strong attention to detail, and produce error-free work
Proactive professional with a strong work ethic and an ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and be accessible during work hours, regardless of work location
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and shift quickly between assignments with a flexible and positive attitude while meeting deadlines
Proven ability to establish a rapport with parents, providers, and community organizations
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment
Commitment to CHS's core mission and values, and an ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners
Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred
Excellent ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and transparently with all levels of staff
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to travel via air and surface transportation, including travel between multiple offices
SALARY SCALE
Entry level pay for this position is $31.37 per hour; the full pay scale is $31.37 to $36.70. Advancement on pay scale is based on qualifications, such as experience and education, and eventual job performance. Excellent benefits are provided including 100% employer paid medical, dental, and vision premium coverage for eligible employees and their eligible dependents and 10% pension plan contribution for eligible employees.
