Part-Time Administrative Assistant
Fisher Hill Elementary School is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Part-Time Administrative Assistant to provide general office support for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will work closely with the Principal and the full-time Administrative Assistant to help support the day-to-day operations of the school office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Answer incoming telephone calls and direct calls or messages as appropriate.
Answer the school door and greet students, families, staff, visitors, and other members of the school community.
Assist the Principal with general clerical and administrative tasks as needed.
Assist families with student registration and enrollment paperwork and maintain related documentation.
Provide general front-office support and respond to routine questions from families, staff, and visitors.
Assist with copying, filing, preparing documents, and other basic clerical tasks.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student, family, and staff information.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks.
Basic computer and office technology skills.
Ability to work professionally and positively with students, families, staff, and visitors.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Previous office or school-based experience preferred, but not required.
The successful candidate should possess:
Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong computer and technology skills, including proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office.
The ability to prepare professional correspondence, agendas, and meeting minutes.
Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with administrators, School Committee members, staff, and the public.
Administrative or executive assistant experience preferred.
School district, municipal, or other public-sector experience preferred.
Familiarity with Massachusetts public meeting requirements and school district operations preferred.
Knowledge and experience utilizing AI tools preferred.
Salary:
$20.64-$26.59 per hour, based on experience
