Job Description

The Office Clerk for Career and Technical Education is a 260-day position that provides administrativeand clerical support to the Career and Technical Education department. The position manages officerecords, attendance, correspondence, scheduling, supplies, data entry, and communications, andsupports students, families, staff, and administrators. The role requires strong organizational,communication, computer, confidentiality, and customer service skills in a busy school environment.1. Regular and punctual attendance.2. To be present at the assigned workstation (bus duty, hall duty, etc.) at the designated time.3. To distribute, collect, and submit all required paperwork for students and teachers promptly.4. To participate in staff meetings and professional development activities and to be responsible forattending other meetings that might be called after school hours by the Principal/Director and/or theExecutive Director.5. To serve as a receptionist responsible for taking calls/messages and directing them to the appropriate parties.6. To prepare or compose general correspondence, such as letters, notices, memoranda, schedules, andreports, for the Administration of Career and Technical Education.7. To accurately perform daily filing, copying, and faxing while maintaining confidentiality.8. To maintain an accurate, organized filing system for the Administration of Career and Technical Education.9. To input data into the student information system.10. To assist office personnel with proofreading for clarity and accuracy.11. Responsible for daily tracking of attendance and monitoring of student performance in accordancewith the Career and Technical Education Programs daily Attendance Process.12. To communicate student attendance by sending it to the school and to parents, guardians, or caregivers on a daily basis.13. Organizing, copying, sorting, and arranging materials for meetings and programs.14. Distributing mailings to parents, guardians, caregivers, staff, and students.15. To monitor, maintain, and order all office supplies, including copy paper, toner, and consumables, inaccordance with policies and procedures.16. To maintain current, up-to-date Contact Information listings.17. To keep bulletin boards current and orderly, keep staff mailbox labels up to date, and produce andmaintain yearly conference room schedules.18. To assist Career and Technical Education staff on a weekly basis with routine filing, typing, proofreading, copying, etc.19. To stay current on specific job-entry skill requirements and evolving technologies in the industrythrough appropriate professional development activities.20. To consistently build positive relationships through positive interactions with students, peers, andadministration and to contribute to a healthy, accepting, and kind culture free from negativity and judgment.21. To adhere to the LPVEC Staff Handbook, Policies and Procedures, and LPVEC Faculty Guidelines.22. To perform all other duties as assigned by the Principal/Director, Supervisor, and/or ExecutiveDirector.
