Job Description

Provides support to the Office of the Dean through office management responsibilities, serves as the library's HR, coordinates the documentation for assessment and routine facility management functions, and performs other duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities Reception & Administration Greets and attends to visitors, students, faculty, and staff who come into the Dean's office, and follows through with requests and research. Sets up meetings as directed by the dean. Works with the office of the Chief Academic Officer to update the University Standing Committee List. Maintains and updates the

Directory and keeps the library directory current. Participates in library social events and acknowledges significant events in the lives of faculty and staff. Office & Facilities Assists in planning programs and events by arranging facilities and a caterer, issuing information, announcements, and invitations. Organizes and oversees office operations and procedures, such as scheduling appointments for the dean and other clerical duties. Maximize office productivity by proficiently using the MS Office Suite, Google, Springshare, FOLIO, and more. Liaise with the ITS support staff to assist library personnel and patrons with technology issues. Acts as liaison to Plant Administration, including Custodial Services and Plant Services. Submits work maintenance work orders to Plant Services and cleaning needs/work orders to Custodial Services. Assessment Assists the dean with JWL data collection and presentation of assessment reports. Library HR Serves as HR director and liaison to AU's Human Resources Department. Includes onboarding, time manager, and terminations. . Supervisory responsibilities None Qualifications Knowledge of the mission and values of the university. Excellent organizational, management, editorial, and people skills. Some knowledge of the academic library experience. Technical competencies Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Google, Springshare, FOLIO, and other application software. Knowledge of the library's information systems and partners and the role they play in library operations (FOLIO, OCLC, CLIO, SpringShare, Digital Commons, Adventist Digital Library, CAR, ALICE Consortium) Interpersonal interactions The Office Manager has written, in-person, and virtual contact with vendors, maintenance workers, employees, students, and the general public. Intercultural competence is desired. Physical demands Works at a computer; lifts 50 pounds. Work environment Typical office environment. Heating and air conditioning. There is moderate noise from office machines and from students and staff moving through the office area.
