Here's a condensed, "love letter" style version you can drop in: What You'll Do You'll be the person who keeps everything (and everyone) moving in the same direction. You'll blend people skills, organization, and a love for animals to keep our office and kennel running smoothly. Coordinate volunteers and kennel flow Welcome volunteers as they arrive, make sure they know what needs to be done, and help them sign in/out. Keep the kennel schedule organized so pets are walked, cleaned, and cared for consistently. Check that supplies (cleaning products, food, basic equipment) are stocked and organized. Keep the office organized Manage shared inboxes and calendars so the team knows who is doing what and when. Schedule meetings and events; send invites, reminders, and follow-ups so nothing slips through the cracks. Draft and proofread emails, newsletters, and simple documents that are clear, kind, and professional. Keep information tidy and useful Maintain accurate records of referrals, volunteer hours, client contacts, and basic kennel logs. Pull simple summaries to support board updates and grants. Support basic financial and admin tasks Assist with light financial tasks like organizing receipts, tracking simple expenses, and keeping records up to date. Help ensure documents, forms, and digital files are labeled and stored in the right places. Help share our story Draft and schedule social media posts and newsletter content that highlight pets, volunteers, and impact. Collect short stories, quotes, and photos from staff and volunteers to bring our mission to life. What We're Looking For Required Strong organizational skills and comfort managing schedules, supplies, and multiple tasks at once. Clear, professional written and verbal communication with empathy for people in tough situations. Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar) and basic office tools. Comfort working independently and directing volunteers or team members with confidence. Genuine compassion for animals and our mission to help people leaving domestic abuse keep their pets. Preferred 1-3 years in admin, office coordination, retail, hospitality, or nonprofit roles. Experience managing volunteers, schedules, or basic inventory (e.g., stocking supplies). Social media savvy for drafting posts and newsletters. Familiarity with light admin tasks like data entry, simple reports, or organizing receipts. Animal care or kennel experience a big plus, but not required. We will train on specifics.
