Job Description

About Us:
Brenham Next is a Christ-centered, community-driven, and child-focused nonprofit ministry dedicated to preparing and empowering the next generation of biblical leaders. Through our various youth programs, we're making a lasting impact in our community.
About Position:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Administrative Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to Brenham Next, aiding the fundraising and development team specifically. Responsibilities include reception desk duties, taking phone calls, database entry, handling registration payments, acknowledgement and thank you note correspondence, and program registrations. The role requires high organization, detail orientation, flexibility, and the ability to work independently. This position is ideal for a multitasker interested in learning non-profit administrative and development skills.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. 1-2 years of administrative experience preferred, ideally in a nonprofit setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite required. Proficiency in or willingness to learn donor management systems. Understanding of non-profit functions. Detail-oriented, sensitivity to deadlines, ability to multitask, strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and needs. Bilingual in English/Spanish, highly preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet visitors and manage incoming phone calls. Prepare, process, and deliver mail. Oversee and maintain the office space, ensuring organization and functionality. Order and organize office supplies. Perform general clerical tasks as needed. Manage database tasks, including updating contact info, conducting periodic audits for accuracy, and processing registrations into NeonCRM. Send out thank you letters and maintain positive community relationships. Communicate effectively with parents, provide updates, and answer registration/program questions. Maintain relationships with building management and oversee office work orders. Conduct prospect research (donors, grants, foundations, sponsors). Assist with events and meetings, including Board Meetings, Fundraising Events, and non-profit collaborations.
Additional Duties:
Handle every day administrative tasks such as bank runs, check pick-ups, and program/operations errands. Oversee routine vehicle care Support immediate needs like program registration, event distribution, thank you notes, and hiring procedures. Assist with the Backpack Buddies program Organize office and manage filing systems.
Program-Specific Responsibilities:
Oversee program registration details and parent communication. Complete, oversee or delegate volunteer tasks, including but not limited to name tags, poster creations, binder building, meal trains, and envelope stuffing.
