Job Duties:
Organization and Maintenance of Records:
Records clerks classify, label, and archive documents systematically, maintaining both paper-based and electronic filing systems. They create and update records, track file locations, and ensure that documents are easily retrievable when requested by staff or departments
Compliance and Confidentiality:
Records clerks handle sensitive information with discretion, ensuring compliance with TDCJ policies. They follow document retention schedules, dispose of unnecessary files properly, and support audits or legal investigations when required.
Administrative Support:
In addition to recordkeeping, clerks may perform general office duties such as preparing correspondence, operating office equipment, and answering phones.
