Shift:
Nights - Sunday evening to Friday morning - 9:30 pm to 5:30 am (100 percent nights). The Level 2-3 Installer will perform all basic and intermediate installation work activities in central office environments. The Installer will be coached and mentored as needed.
Skills/General Duties:
The Installer must clearly understand the installation and decommissioning of data center equipment.
This includes:
Labeling - create and apply accurate labels to cables and equipment; installing various types of cables (including fiber optic and copper) while adhering to industry standards and color codes; terminating RJ45 connectors on cables (to ensure reliable network connections); and working with power distribution units (PDUs), fiber optic cables, copper cables, and patch panels to ensure optimal network performance (preferred skill). Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Central Office Technician - II/III to join our night shift team. This dynamic role involves maintaining and troubleshooting critical telecommunications infrastructure within the central office environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, and repairing fiber optic systems, network cabling, and associated equipment to ensure seamless communication services. Skills Strong knowledge of fiber optic cables, fiber splicing techniques, and telecommunications cable installation procedures. Proficiency with telecommunications testing equipment for diagnosing network issues effectively. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering troubleshooting guides accurately. Technical proficiency in computer networking concepts including LAN, WAN, Ethernet, and telephony systems. Skilled in climbing structures safely while maintaining awareness of electrical hazards associated with low voltage systems. Experience working with engineering troubleshooting support for fiber optic networks and electrical systems. Adept at using hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic tools for maintenance tasks. Excellent understanding of telecommunication standards and safety protocols necessary for outdoor work environments.
