Work Schedule:

Part-time, going in office 1hr/day for approximately 2-3 days per week during regular business hours. Each visit is expected to take approximately 1 hour. A consistent weekly schedule is required. During the busier mailing season, the schedule may increase to 3 days per week.

About Our Client:

Our client is a small nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC. They are seeking a dependable part-time Mailing Assistant to help manage incoming mail and ensure documents are properly organized, scanned and distributed to remote team members. The Mailing Assistant will visit the client's DC office on a consistent part-time schedule to collect and process incoming mail. This role is well suited for someone looking to supplement their current part-time work, school schedule or other commitments with a reliable weekly assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

Retrieve incoming mail from the office on scheduled days Open and organize mail while retaining all original materials, including envelopes Record incoming mail in a daily tracking log Scan mail and supporting documents into organized digital files Maintain accurate electronic records using Microsoft OneDrive and Excel Prepare processed mail for shipment to remote employees Package and send outgoing materials through the appropriate shipping service Follow established procedures to ensure mail is handled accurately and securely Keep the workspace organized and maintain confidentiality when handling incoming correspondence

Qualifications:

Previous administrative, office support, mailroom or clerical experience preferred Comfortable using Microsoft Office, OneDrive and basic spreadsheet functions Highly reliable and able to work independently in an office setting Strong attention to detail and organization Able to follow established procedures consistently Professional and trustworthy when handling incoming correspondence Must be able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule during regular business hours

Additional Details:

Direct start with no formal interview process anticipated Assignment is expected to begin October 5 Work is generally expected to take no more than 1 hour per visit Schedule will typically be 2 days per week and may increase to 3 days per week during the organization's busier mailing season Casual office attire is appropriate Convenient DC location within walking distance of
