Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced veterinary environment. This role requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. Duties Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Assist with animal handling during visits, including restraint when necessary. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Handle medical collection processes with accuracy and professionalism. Maintain client records and ensure all information is up to date. Assist veterinarians with patient intake, including gathering medical history. Provide information about services, procedures, and pet care to clients. Manage phone calls, emails, and inquiries in a timely manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area. Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth clinic operations. Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy is essential. Familiarity with medical collection processes is beneficial. Experience in animal husbandry, dog handling, and animal care is highly valued. Skills in animal restraint and aseptic technique are advantageous. Laboratory experience or veterinary critical care experience is a plus. Equine experience is considered an asset for candidates applying to equine practices. Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude are required. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for pet care and grooming will be viewed favorably.
