Job Description

Job Title:
Receptionist / Front Desk The Receptionist is the first point of contact for clients and their pets at our dog boarding, daycare, grooming, and training facility. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing appointments, handling client communications, and supporting daily front-desk operations while ensuring a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for pets and their owners. This is not your typical receptionist position, our front desk is on their feet majority of the day, handling dogs for check ins and check outs, this is a physically demanding job. Key Responsibilities Client Services & Front Desk Operations Greet clients and pets in a friendly, professional manner Check dogs in and out for boarding, daycare, grooming, and training services Answer phone calls, emails, and messages Provide information about services, pricing, policies, and facility procedures Process payments, invoices, and retail sales accurately Scheduling Duties Manage grooming, training, daycare, and boarding schedules Maintain accurate client and pet records, including vaccination and health documentation Handle cancellations, waitlists, reservations, appointments, and special requests Pet Safety & Facility Support Verify required vaccinations and paperwork before admitting pets Communicate special care instructions, feeding schedules, or behavioral notes to staff Monitor lobby areas to ensure safety and cleanliness Pet handling (leashing, guiding dogs) Team Communication & Support Coordinate with groomers, trainers, kennel staff, and management Relay client feedback, concerns, and special instructions to appropriate staff Support daily operations and help maintain a positive team environment Qualifications Previous receptionist, customer service, or animal experience preferred not required Experience working with dogs or in a pet care environment strongly preferred not required Comfortable handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments Basic computer and phone skills Skills & Attributes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Genuine love for animals and commitment to their safety and well-being Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and or carry various objects and or animals Ability to work in a fast paced environment Comfortable working around barking dogs and pet-related odors Work Schedule Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and early mornings may be required

From $11.00 per hour
