Part-time 16 hours per week Every Saturday & Sunday, 3-11pm
JOB SUMMARY
Answers and uses sound judgment when quickly determining the accurate and appropriate party to direct incoming calls. Protects patient privacy when carrying out job responsibilities by adhering to Stillwater Medical Center s (SMC) policies. Provides overhead announcements as directed using the protocol established by the Safety and Facilities Director and SMC Administration. Places long distance calls as directed using the protocol established by SMC Administration. Provides paging services for SMC affiliated providers using customized, provider protocols. Provides paging services when SMC staff is required to respond to needs. Monitors all alarm panels and notifies appropriate parties. Performs ED Intake functions as directed and when the ED Intake staff steps away from the desk. Backs up the Access Desk Representative in the main entrance as requested. At all times, uses exemplary customer service skills and professionalism. Monitors ED activity and reports any inappropriate behavior demonstrated by ED clients or patients to the Security staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate or equivalent. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Excellent customer services skills. Basic computer knowledge. Previous experience in a customer service role and/or medical environment, a plus. Ability to type 40 wpm.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, patients, and families. Able to hear to converse with others on the phone. Able to sit for extended periods of time throughout the work schedule, with some lifting and bending. Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to prepare and read documents accurately. Demonstrates adequate stamina to deal with stressful situations and to complete the necessary work schedule. Possess fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to manage office equipment.
