The Dealership Title Clerk is responsible for processing vehicle titles, registrations, and related documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations. This role ensures the accurate and timely transfer of vehicle ownership, maintains title records, and works closely with customers, lenders, dealerships, and state motor vehicle agencies to resolve title and registration issues. Key Responsibilities Process title and registration paperwork for new, used, and wholesale vehicle sales. Submit title applications and registration documentation to the appropriate state agencies. Verify the accuracy and completeness of sales documents, lien information, taxes, and fees. Track title status and maintain records of pending, completed, and outstanding title transactions. Process payoffs and obtain lien releases from financial institutions. Ensure compliance with state DMV regulations and dealership policies. Handle title corrections, duplicate titles, and out-of-state title transfers. Coordinate with finance, sales, accounting, and customer service departments to resolve documentation discrepancies. Prepare and maintain title inventory logs and reports. Manage vehicle registration renewals and temporary tags as required. Respond to customer inquiries related to title and registration status. Maintain confidentiality of customer information and comply with data privacy requirements. Assist during audits by providing requested title and registration records.
