Overview The Control Desk Clerk is responsible for providing accurate clerical support to the Operating Room using time and resources in an effective, efficient manner. The Control Desk Clerk is required to communicate in a positive manner to patients, family and staff. The Control Desk Clerk role is to portray the image of the hospital as supportive while maintaining a professional atmosphere and actively participating in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Two years of college education or equivalent work experience preferred. Previous clerical or administrative experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with computers and standard office applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service and public interaction skills, including professionalism, courtesy, tact, and respect for others. Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, prioritize tasks, exercise initiative, and make sound decisions. Dependable and able to accept direction while working effectively as part of a team. Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities. Basic understanding of medical terminology. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation None required. Licensure, Certification, or Registration None required.
