Duties Safely climb trees using rigging techniques, harnesses, and climbing gear to perform pruning, trimming, or removal operations. Operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts to access difficult or tall tree canopies efficiently and securely. Execute tree removal projects with precision, ensuring minimal impact on surrounding landscapes and structures. Use arborist rigging techniques for lowering heavy limbs or sections safely during pruning or removal processes. Conduct plant pruning care to promote healthy growth, improve structure, and enhance landscape aesthetics. Apply knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for mapping and planning tree maintenance routes when needed. Maintain safety protocols at all times by inspecting equipment, securing work areas, and following industry standards for outdoor work environments. Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, planting, and general landscape upkeep to support overall site health. Utilize chainsaws, pruning tools, and other equipment effectively while adhering to safety guidelines. Collaborate with team members on rigging setups for complex tree care projects involving landscaping or land management. Qualifications Proven experience as a tree climber with a strong understanding of arborist rigging techniques and tree removal procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of horticulture, dendrology (study of trees), and plant pruning care principles. Proficiency in operating bucket trucks, chainsaws, and other tree care equipment safely. Familiarity with GIS mapping tools is a plus for planning work routes or documenting site conditions. Strong outdoor work experience in various weather conditions with a focus on safety protocol adherence. Growing experience in landscaping or landscape maintenance is desirable; knowledge of lawn care and general horticulture is beneficial. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including climbing, lifting heavy limbs or equipment, and working at heights comfortably.
