Today, we own and manage more than 90 properties across the Gulf Coast , representing over 11,000 multifamily units along with a number of commercial properties. We're looking for a talented and experienced Arborist to join our dynamic Landscape team and play a key role in protecting, maintaining, and enhancing the trees and landscapes across our communities. What You'll Do:
As our Arborist, you'll help develop and oversee a comprehensive tree-care and urban forestry program across our properties.
Your responsibilities will include:
Evaluate tree health: Examine and diagnose issues involving pests, diseases, poor growth, structural concerns, and other tree-health challenges.
Develop tree-care strategies:
Investigate tree maintenance needs, review reports and resident concerns, conduct site observations, establish work priorities, and develop action plans for routine and emergency tree care.
Coordinate tree services:
Assign work to qualified vendors and oversee tree trimming, removal, maintenance, planting, and emergency response activities. Be a resource for our teams: Respond to questions regarding tree trimming, removal, maintenance procedures, and tree health.
Protect our investment:
Evaluate tree health and recommend appropriate treatments for disease, pests, and other issues.
Manage documentation:
Prepare tree damage, maintenance, and claim reports while maintaining accurate records.
Support budgeting:
Assist the Landscape Department with the annual arbor care budget and help prepare specifications for contracted tree maintenance services.
Oversee vendors:
Monitor contractual tree maintenance operations and supervise contracted crews responsible for planting, maintaining, and removing trees.
Build our vendor network:
Recruit and develop relationships with qualified arbor care vendors.
Create a tree inventory:
Develop and maintain an inventory and assessment of trees throughout our properties.
Lead urban forestry initiatives:
Help design and implement a comprehensive urban forestry program focused on strategic planting, ongoing maintenance, and responsible tree removal.
What You Need To Be Successful:
ISA Certification is preferred but not required Louisiana-licensed Arborist Proven professional experience as an arborist Extensive knowledge of tree biology and soil science Ability to accurately identify tree and plant species Strong observational skills and the ability to recognize signs of poor growth, pests, diseases, and other issues Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose issues and recommend effective treatments Excellent communication skills when working with property management teams, vendors, and other stakeholders Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage schedules effectively Ready to Grow With Us?
