Experienced Tree Climber / Arborist $30-$49/hour + Overtime | Year-Round Work | Half-Day Fridays |

We're currently looking for an experienced Tree Climber / Arborist to join our production team. Compensation $30-$49 per hour , based on experience, certifications, CDL and skill level Time-and-a-half for hours over 40 Up to $300 monthly individual production incentive Up to $1,000 sign-on incentive for an ideal candidate with a valid ISA Certified Arborist credential Christmas/year-end production incentive Approximately 45-50 hours per week during summer Approximately 40 hours per week during winter Year-round employment Company parties Why Experienced Climbers Choose Ostvig

Our equipment includes:
Grapple saw crane Portable Nifty Lifts Bucket trucks Articulating skid steers Modern chippers and tree-care equipment On-site fuel tanks Our own brush disposal site Spend more time doing professional tree work and less time waiting in line to dump brush or fuel trucks. What We're Looking For This position is intended for an experienced tree climber . Required Qualifications Minimum 1 full year of professional rope-and-saddle tree climbing experience Ability to safely climb and work aloft in trees Experience with modern tree-climbing systems and techniques Experience operating chainsaws while aloft Knowledge of tree-removal and pruning techniques Ability to safely rig and lower limbs and wood Strong understanding of job-site and climbing safety Current driver's license Ability to work outdoors year-round Strong work ethic and dependable attendance Ability to work effectively as part of a professional tree crew Ability to pass required pre-employment screening Highly Valued Qualifications Applicants with any of the following may qualify for higher compensation: ISA Certified Arborist Class A CDL Crew leadership or foreman experience Advanced climbing and rigging experience SRS/SRT and MRS/DRT climbing experience Large tree removal experience Crane-assisted tree removal experience Bucket or aerial-lift experience Skid-steer or articulated-loader experience Plant Health Care or pesticide applicator licensing Mechanical ability and equipment-maintenance experience Don't have your CDL or ISA Certified Arborist credential yet? For the right experienced climber, Ostvig Tree Care can help you work toward obtaining your Class A CDL and ISA Certified Arborist credential. What You'll Do As a Tree Climber / Arborist, you will work with an experienced production crew performing professional residential and commercial tree care throughout the Twin Cities.
Responsibilities include:
Climbing trees using professional rope-and-saddle systems Performing structural, ornamental and maintenance pruning Performing technical and hazardous tree removals Operating chainsaws and other professional tree-care equipment Rigging and lowering limbs and wood Working from aerial lifts and bucket trucks when appropriate Assisting with crane-supported tree removals Evaluating the work zone for hazards, including utilities, traffic and electrical conductors Performing daily equipment and safety inspections Maintaining climbing and production equipment Following ANSI, OSHA and company safety procedures Maintaining a clean and professional job site Providing professional service to customers and representing Ostvig Tree Care well The Person We're Looking For Skill matters, but so does the person behind the skill. Schedule:
Year-round; approximately 45-50 hours/week during peak season and approximately 40 hours/week during winter. Overtime paid at time-and-a-half over 40 hours.
