Position Introduction:
Lead OU's tree crew, overseeing tree care, safety, and maintenance to protect campus and enhance landscape quality. Drive pruning, removals, storm response, and sustainability initiatives. Keep OU safe, beautiful, and thriving. Apply today. Supervises work in all aspects of landscape construction and maintenance. Performs technical and semi-technical duties required in the propagation of plant materials. Organizes, coordinates and directs landscape crews. Performs the necessary tasks to accomplish the goals set forth by the Landscape Department. Coordinates the application of fertilizers and pesticides in a safe and proper manner. Directs and supervises the safe and proper use of equipment and materials, including heavy equipment. Assists in the design and layout of floral and plant beds, and the selection of appropriate materials, plants, and flowers. Coordinates and directs the work of other Facilities Management crews working on landscape projects. Prepares and approves employee time cards and prepares routine reports. Selects and trains personnel, evaluates performance, and makes salary recommendations. Processes requisitions to stock and maintain supply inventory. Required Education and Experience:
3 years of experience in landscaping, arboriculture (tree care), or grounds maintenance.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. ISA Certified Arborist certification may be required depending on location or assignment.
