Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Tree Service Worker and become a vital part of maintaining healthy, beautiful landscapes! In this energetic role, you will perform essential tree care and landscape maintenance tasks, utilizing specialized equipment and techniques to ensure safety, aesthetic appeal, and environmental health. Your efforts will directly contribute to the growth and vitality of urban and rural green spaces, making communities more vibrant and sustainable. This paid position offers opportunities for hands-on learning, skill development, and meaningful outdoor work. Responsibilities Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to access high branches safely for pruning, trimming, and removal. Use chainsaws and rigging tools to cut, shape, and remove trees or limbs with precision and safety. Perform plant pruning care to promote healthy growth, improve tree structure, and enhance landscape aesthetics. Conduct tree trimming and removal activities while adhering to safety standards and environmental best practices. Apply knowledge of dendrology—the study of trees—to identify species, assess health conditions, and recommend appropriate care strategies. Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, planting, mulching, and general site cleanup to support overall landscape health. Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for mapping tree inventories or planning maintenance routes when required. Support growing experience in horticulture by learning about plant care, soil health, and sustainable landscaping techniques. Experience Prior experience in tree care or landscaping is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is highly valued. Familiarity with bucket operation, chainsaw use, rigging techniques, and plant pruning care is advantageous. Knowledge of dendrology or horticulture principles helps in understanding tree health and landscape management. Experience working with landscaping equipment such as lawn mowers or trimmers is a plus. Demonstrated ability to follow safety protocols during aerial work or when handling heavy machinery is essential.
