Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and hard working individual to drive around in a four wheel drive truck and harass fish eating birds on a commercial fish farm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preventing birds from eating our fish, complying with conditions of our depredation permit, ensuring the trucks and equipment being used are maintained in good working order. This role requires strong work ethic and attention to detail. This is not a job for slackers looking to avoid work. This is not a job for trainwrecks who will destroy our equipment joy riding. This is a go-go-go-go get it done job. Everyday is different. Perfect for a self-starting, independent people. Duties Drive a four wheel drive truck on mud levees chasing birds Harass birds with horns, shotguns and pyrotechnics. Maintain trucks and equipment in working order. Communicate numbers of birds to owner. Coordinate response to numbers of birds present. Assist on the farm as needed. Bird chasing lasts from September to May. When there are no birds, we will find other work to be done. This is a farm. There is no such thing as "not my job". Qualifications Must have valid driver's license. Must have reliable transportation to get to work every day you are scheduled. Experience mowing, spraying, disking and grading levees is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency, cost and time management. Must be able to work six days per week up to 12 hours per day. Must be Drug Free. Must be able to work well with others.
