JOB SUMMARY
Sun City Roseville Community Association is seeking a skilled Assistant Landscape Irrigation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining irrigation systems for commercial landscapes. The Landscape Irrigation Technician must have a thorough understanding of irrigation equipment, systems, and components to ensure efficient water use and proper functioning of all irrigation-related installations. Must also have knowledge of the irrigation requirements of various plant types and be able to ascertain if those needs are being met or if adjustments are needed. Performs a variety of duties ranging from operating landscape maintenance equipment, to skilled grounds construction and installation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Install new irrigation systems according to landscape plans and specifications.
Perform regular maintenance and inspections of existing irrigation systems to identify and repair leaks, broken lines, faulty sprinkler heads, and other malfunctions.
Troubleshoot and diagnose irrigation system issues to determine necessary repairs or adjustments.
Replace or repair faulty valves, controllers, wires, and other components.
Adjust irrigation schedules and settings to ensure optimal water efficiency and plant health.
Program irrigation central control and stand-alone controllers based on seasonal water requirements.
Perform system startups in the spring and winterization procedures in the fall.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
Collaborate with senior irrigation technician, landscape crews and managers to ensure irrigation systems complement overall landscape design and meet client expectations .
REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience as a Landscape Irrigation Technician or similar role. Willing to train an exceptional candidate, with a related background.
knowledge of plant water needs, irrigation systems, including pumps, controllers, valves, pipes, and fittings.
Ability to read landscape and irrigation maps and plans.
Proficiency in using irrigation tools and equipment, including trenchers, pipe cutters, and multi-meters.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
WORKING CONDITIONS
Constant outside exposure to wind, rain, cold and extreme heat and humidity. Able to kneel, stoop, bend, push, pull, lift, carry and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Able to stand for long periods of time. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Valid driver's license
Able to follow verbal and written instructions.

NORMAL WORKING
HOURS and DAYS:
Full-time. Mon -Fri; 5:00 a.m. - 2:00p.m. (Days/hours will vary by season); 30 minute meal break; overtime as required.
