We are looking for a dependable, hardworking person to care for our horses two days per week. The primary responsibility is horse care, with additional farm and property-maintenance tasks as needed.
Horse-care duties may include:
Feeding and watering horses Cleaning and maintaining stalls, shelters, paddocks, and surrounding areas Checking horses daily for injuries, illness, or other concerns Turning horses in and out as needed Monitoring fencing, gates, water sources, and paddock conditions Reporting any health, safety, or maintenance issues promptly Providing general day-to-day care and attention to the horses Additional farm duties may include: Planting and caring for strawberries and other berry plants Weeding, pruning, watering, mulching, and general crop care Mowing, weed eating, and basic property maintenance Inspecting fences and paddocks for holes, loose boards, damaged wire, or other safety issues Completing basic fence and paddock repairs as needed Checking irrigation and helping identify maintenance issues Keeping growing areas, paths, equipment areas, and workspaces clean and organized Helping with harvesting and seasonal farm projects Assisting the owner with basic farm work, repairs, planting, cleanup, and property-improvement projects Other general farm duties as needed We're looking for someone who is reliable, self-motivated, observant, comfortable working outdoors, and experienced or comfortable handling horses. The right person should be able to work independently, recognize potential problems, and communicate promptly with the owner. Previous horse-care, farm, landscaping, gardening, fencing, handyman, or agricultural experience is preferred, but reliability, common sense, a strong work ethic, and willingness to learn are most important. This is an ongoing position for approximately two days each week, with the possibility of additional hours during planting, harvesting, or busy project periods.
