We distribute locally grown, primarily organic produce and products from MA farms. If you have a passion for local produce, are physically strong and outgoing, and like working in a team-centered environment, this not-just-for-the-summer job might be the gig for you. We are seeking an organized, personable individual to drive a rented 16' box truck to collect produce from local farms. After a stop back at HQ in Salem to collect additional products, the driver continues to our Marblehead location. Here we meet up with the Western Route driver and split all the goods according to member orders in all three FDC locations. The last leg of the delivery journey involves delivering all produce and products needed for Melrose to their location on Lynn Fells Parkway. The route finishes where it started in Salem. Considerable lifting is required including setting up tents, lifting full coolers, bags of corn and totes bearing all types of locally grown produce. Starting pay is $20.00/hour. Workdays are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Each shift is 7 - 10 hours, for a total of approximately 27 hours per week June - October, with 4 additional dates required in November & December.

Responsibilities:

Communicate with directors & coworkers in advance of the distribution Print or access route & what to pick up (sent via email daily) Clear out Salem shed location of empty crates Drive as needed to local farms checking volume brought on truck Help load trucks in Marblehead in advance of driving to our Melrose location Work with volunteer(s) Return empty crates to HQ keeping note of what will need to return to farm the following week. Gas up truck, sweep out, return.

Qualifications:
