This is a hands-on cultivation position working under the direction of the Cultivation Manager and management team. The Assistant Grower will help execute established cultivation schedules, procedures, and environmental strategies throughout all stages of plant production. The ideal candidate has practical cannabis cultivation experience, strong attention to detail, a solid work ethic, and the ability to recognize and communicate plant health or environmental issues. This position does not have primary management responsibility for the cultivation operation. The successful candidate will be expected to follow established cultivation protocols and work closely with cultivation leadership to consistently produce high-quality cannabis flower. Responsibilities Perform daily hands-on cultivation activities including transplanting, pruning, topping, defoliation, trellising, plant training, harvesting, and other plant maintenance. Follow cultivation schedules, SOPs, and instructions established by the Cultivation Manager and management team. Monitor plants for signs of nutrient deficiencies, irrigation problems, pests, diseases, environmental stress, and other abnormalities and promptly report concerns to management. Assist with irrigation and fertigation activities, including monitoring nutrient solution, pH, EC, irrigation events, and plant response. Monitor cultivation room conditions including temperature, humidity, lighting, CO₂, irrigation, and other environmental parameters. Assist with propagation and cloning activities as needed. Participate in integrated pest management (IPM) activities according to established procedures. Assist with harvest activities, including cutting, handling, transporting, and preparing plant material for drying and processing. Maintain clean and sanitary cultivation rooms, equipment, tools, work areas, and plant-contact surfaces. Accurately complete cultivation logs, plant records, checklists, and other required documentation. Identify equipment or environmental issues and promptly communicate them to cultivation management. Properly use and care for cultivation equipment, irrigation components, meters, sprayers, hand tools, and other equipment. Follow all safety, sanitation, security, regulatory, and facility procedures. Assist the Cultivation Manager and other team members with additional cultivation duties as needed. Requirements Previous hands-on experience in commercial cannabis cultivation is strongly preferred. Knowledge of cannabis plant growth and the vegetative and flowering stages. Experience with common cultivation tasks such as pruning, defoliation, trellising, transplanting, cloning, harvesting, and plant maintenance. Familiarity with irrigation and fertigation systems and basic understanding of pH, EC, nutrients, and plant water requirements. Ability to recognize common cannabis pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and signs of plant stress. Familiarity with indoor cultivation environmental factors including temperature, humidity, VPD, lighting, airflow, and CO₂ is preferred. Experience with rockwool, coco, or other commercial cultivation media is preferred. Ability to accurately follow cultivation schedules, SOPs, and instructions from management. Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently complete repetitive cultivation tasks. Ability to work effectively as part of a cultivation team and communicate problems or abnormalities promptly. Ability to stand and perform physical work for extended periods and safely lift and move cultivation materials and equipment. Comfortable working in indoor cultivation environments that may be warm, humid, wet, or exposed to fertilizers and agricultural products. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and willingness to work according to the cultivation and harvest schedule.
