Job Summary Job Description This position exists to provide support to the Landscape/Horticulture, greenhouse/landscape, grounds/plantings, and to provide essential greenhouse watering for the Landscape and Horticulture program throughout the entire year as well as assisting faculty and students in the set up and completion of lab assignments, student projects, and assisting with the annual greenhouse sale. General maintenance of the equipment and supplies associated with the program is also important. Minimum Qualifications 6 months of teaching/tutoring experience in Horticulture at the high school level or above OR 2 years of work experience in Horticulture OR An equivalent combination of education and work experience. Post-secondary coursework in Horticulture or industry certificate/diploma/degree sufficient to provide technical lab services for students, faculty, and staff OR relevant licensure in Horticulture. A bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of experience, an associate degree may substitute for 6 months of experience.
Note :
The position is expected to obtain a Pesticide Applicator's License within the first six months of employment. Occasional pesticide applications may be required as part of this role, ensuring the health and quality of greenhouse plants. Training and support to meet this requirement will be provided by Hennepin Technical College. Preferred Qualification Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of woody and herbaceous plants. Current pesticide license. Self-starter. Able to work independently. Good work ethic.
