Horticulture Adjunct Instructor "Pool"

Job Description

Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications to build an active pool of qualified candidates for Adjunct Faculty (temporary, part-time) positions. Adjunct instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or at one of the college's six county centers located in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick. Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses offered at local high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis as teaching opportunities become available. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching a diverse student body in accordance with established syllabi at various locations, utilizing instructional technology, and applying a variety of effective teaching methods. Additional duties include planning, managing, and delivering course instruction; following all EPA and OSHA regulations that pertain to the program; participating in college functions as needed; and applying teaching practices that support the continuous improvement of both the program and the college. Adjunct faculty are expected to serve as professional team members who support the mission and vision of the college while performing their duties with the highest level of quality and service. An associate or bachelor's degree in a horticulture-related discipline is required, along with two (2) years of work experience in a horticulture or landscape-related position. A master's degree in a horticulture-related discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in a horticulture or landscape-related position are preferred.
