Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Greenhouse Assistant to support the daily operations of our thriving greenhouse and farming environment. This hands-on role assists with all aspects of plant cultivation, from propagation and planting through harvest, while helping maintain optimal growing conditions, greenhouse systems, and facility organization. The Greenhouse Assistant plays an important role in supporting organic growing practices, maintaining healthy crops, and ensuring the greenhouse operates efficiently. The ideal candidate has a passion for plants and agriculture, and thrives in a collaborative environment. Monday - Friday with alternating weekends
Hours:
7:00am-3:00pm OR 8:00am-4:00pm (To be discussed and finalized) Responsibilities Conduct a daily morning evaluation on each greenhouse.
Evaluation should notate the following:
pests, soil moisture, soil pH, leaf condition, fruit condition, and light damage if any. Information will then be imported to Google Docs. Collect, clean and begin drying/preparing harvestable plants. Have a comprehensive understanding of how to operate the control systems via TOSIBOX. Daily watering according to the printed schedule for each greenhouse. Remove dead/dying leaves from individual plants. Dead leaf debris ground clean up. Apply fungicide, pesticide, and physical pest traps according to the written schedule, as well as fertilizers. Determine type of pest using
ADONSTAR
microscope. Propagate or Clone plants. Collect seeds and log into the Seed Bank. Cleaning the "Headhouse" which includes sweeping, shop vac, windows, and maintaining a clean work station. Trash needs to be taken out every other day, or daily depending on volume. Sync each Bluetooth Turtlebox to the iPad, set on a repeat playlist via Apple Music. Turn grow lights ON/OFF according to weather via the breakers. Take approved remaining vegetables to chickens for nutrient snacking. Maintain raised garden beds, keep free of weeds & pests. Harvest weekly. Water & care for Decor plants as needed. Assist in pumpkin garden maintenance. Preferred Requirements Previous experience working in a greenhouse, nursery, farm, garden center, landscaping, or agricultural setting. Basic knowledge of plant care. Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Flexible and adaptable when priorities shift throughout the day. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift and carry 40 pounds or more. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequent stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, squatting, walking, and standing throughout the workday. Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including hot, cold, wet, and humid weather. Ability to safely perform manual labor in greenhouse and outdoor farm environments. $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
