Position Summary Twisted Roots Tree Co. is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Farm Operations Technician to help build, maintain, and improve our growing tree farm. This position is responsible for maintaining farm infrastructure, irrigation systems, equipment, and facilities while assisting with general farm operations. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, operating equipment, and building things that last. Every day brings a new challenge, and no two days are exactly alike. Horticulture or nursery experience is not required. We're looking for someone with strong mechanical skills and takes pride in quality workmanship. Essential Responsibilities Irrigation & Plumbing Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair farm irrigation systems. Build and modify PVC water distribution systems for tree production. Diagnose and repair leaks, broken valves, fittings, pumps, and irrigation components. Install new water lines, manifolds, and irrigation infrastructure as the farm grows. Perform routine inspections to ensure irrigation systems are operating efficiently. Maintain water pumps, filtration systems, and related equipment. Equipment & Mechanical Maintenance Operate tractors, skid steers, mowers, and other farm equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on tractors, implements, trailers, mowers, and pumps. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment. Keep equipment clean, serviced, and operating safely. Fabrication & Construction Weld and fabricate equipment repairs, brackets, gates, trailers, fencing, and other farm infrastructure. Construct and improve farm buildings, work areas, storage facilities, and operational systems. Assist with infrastructure projects and general property improvements. Operate hand tools and power tools safely. General Farm Operations Mow, weed eat, and maintain the appearance of the property. Load, unload, and move trees and materials. Keep the farm organized, clean, and operating efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience with PVC plumbing or irrigation installation and repair. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Experience operating tractors or heavy equipment. Welding and fabrication experience preferred. Comfortable using hand and power tools. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Physical Requirements Work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions. Frequently lift and carry 50+ pounds. Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and walk throughout the workday. Safely operate tractors, trailers, and powered equipment.
