DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Deliver a world class customer experience with Raving Fan service Design new & inspiring display gardens, hanging basket mixes, etc Oversee the growing & care of industry best annuals, vegetables, perennials, shrubs, and trees, including transplanting, watering, fertilization, pruning, deadheading, etc Create & maintain ordering schedules to meet production timelines and keep shelves full Meet brand standards for plant quality & presentation Develop & manage a functional team Participate in weekly team meetings Uphold company processes and policies Develop new processes that move the business towards sustainability Contribute to long-term success of your team and the company
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
High personal standards Friendly demeanor Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining consistency Willingness to communicate clearly and provide honest feedback Ability to multi-task Strong work ethic Solid written and verbal communication Experience in the production of annual flowers, vegetables, trees, shrubs, perennials, pest and disease ID and treatment is required Possession of a working cell phone that we can reach you on as needed Ability to get to/from work on your own Flexible schedule to accommodate seasonal demands Preference given for course work and/or job experience in Horticulture, Greenhouse Management, Crop Production, Plant Physiology, ornamental horticulture, ecology, biology, botany, or related field Clean driving record Drug free At least 1 year of experience in a retail environment At least 2 years of experience in a similar or larger growing operation April 15 - June 15 there are no time-off requests due to our busy season If you have a special situation, we can work with you, but for that short amount of time, other requests will be denied All Saturdays in May are required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position or that a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job are dictated by the Utah Driver's License requirements. This job may have specific physical demands including, but not limited to, the following: ability to lift up to 60 lbs.; ability to sit, bend, reach, kneel, squat, climb stairs, or stand for a long period of time. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. The nature of this position requires standing for long periods of time, repetitive movement, and frequent heavy lifting. The majority of hours worked from February to June will be spent in a traditional greenhouse environment being exposed to extremes of temperature and weather. You will operate a variety of tools & equipment common to the greenhouse environment including: computer, pruners, hose wands, skidsteer, etc. requiring continuous and repetitive arm, hand and eye movement. Must be willing to submit to a background check.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$16-20/hour DOE Generous Freckle Farm employee discount PTO starts accruing at the commencement of full-time employment. Can be used after 1 year of full-time employment. Company parties
