Hiring farm laborers to help with cattle, and farm duties. This is a family owned farm that operates in the Rustburg area. If you are looking for a job that is rewarding and different, Look no further! This is NOT an office 9-5. Any individual with Farm experience is encouraged to apply! Pay will be based off of experience.
Must have your own transportation and be on time.
Job Responsibilities Identify sick animals and treat as necessary.
Management of whole herd health Cow/Calf and Feedlot operations Manage and assist in vaccination programs. Manage and distribute daily feed rations Pen maintenance (Scraping pens, manure removal, snow removal) Ability to sort cattle in like groups for marketing Assist in transporting of cattle to pastures and market Repair and maintain equipment and structures Maintain and build fence Maintain high standards of animal welfare Efficient and productive personnel management Assist in hay and forage supply activities Maintain feeding records

Experience:
AT LEAST 1
year of actual experience working with livestock.
Education :
No specific education required. AG skills : Employees will be operating tractors, TMR mixers, trucks, skid steers, post drivers, wheel loaders, and other various equipment to complete tasks. Employees will be processing/sorting cattle, hauling cattle from farm to farm, treating sick cattle, and feeding cattle. Employees will be assisting with planting and harvesting corn silage and small grain crops. Employees will be tasked with repairing and maintaining fences, barbwire, woven wire, and high tensil. Employees will be spreading manure on crop and pastureland. Employees will be disking and preparing land to plant crops. Employees will be cutting, raking, and bailing round and square hay and removing it from fields during spring and fall seasons. Employees will be removing waste and cleaning cattle working facilities. Employees will be using hand tools such as shovels and rakes to complete various tasks throughout the operation. Employees will be covering and uncovering bunker silos with plastic and tires. Employees will be mowing grass and weed trimming around driveways and buildings. Employees will be bush hogging. Employees will be using chainsaws and pole saws to clear limbs and trees from fences and edges of crop fields. Employees will be pressure washing and cleaning equipment, trucks, and livestock trailers. Employees will be cleaning water tanks for livestock and cleaning feed troughs. Employees will be removing dead cattle from pens and preparing them for disposal.
Licenses/Certificates :
Must have Drivers License; CDL license NOT required but a plus. Familiarity with agriculture : Must have knowledge and experience with livestock.

Work Environment
Job will involve working outdoors, with travel throughout business environment interacting with owner, staff, field personnel.
Employees will be exposed to dust, odors, noise, and equipment typical for a diverse livestock, commodity and specialty crop operation.
Work Schedule :
