Position Summary Rivertech Irrigation is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our team. This field-based position involves traveling in a company vehicle to farms and agribusiness operations throughout Southeastern Washington and Northeastern Oregon. The Service Technician is responsible for independently diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing center pivot irrigation systems, pump stations, electrical controls, and related agricultural equipment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, mechanically and electrically capable, and committed to delivering high-quality work as part of a strong team. Responsibilities Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain center pivots, pump stations, motors, control panels, drives, gearboxes, sprinklers, and related irrigation equipment. Perform electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic work, including wiring, testing circuits, installing conduit, pulling wire, and configuring irrigation controls. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, blueprints, and equipment specifications. Inspect systems for defects, hazards, wear, and potential failures, and recommend appropriate repairs or corrective action. Complete service calls safely, efficiently, and with limited supervision. Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, system operation, and maintenance needs. Maintain accurate service records, including labor, parts used, repairs completed, and recommended follow-up work. Participate in seasonal overtime, on-call service, early mornings, evenings, and weekend work as required. Follow all company safety procedures, electrical requirements, and industry best practices. Qualifications At least two years of experience in irrigation service, electrical work, agricultural equipment, industrial maintenance, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to work independently, make sound field decisions, and complete jobs with limited supervision. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Working knowledge of farming, irrigation systems, pumps, motors, controls, or agricultural equipment. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical drawings. Washington 03 Journeyman Electrician license, Oregon electrical license, or equivalent experience preferred. Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company insurance requirements. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, kneeling, digging, and working at heights. Strong initiative, accountability, communication skills, and attention to detail. Team-oriented attitude and willingness to support coworkers and customers. Commitment to professional workmanship, customer service, safety, and continuous learning. Work Environment This position primarily works outdoors at farms, pump stations, irrigation sites, and agribusiness facilities. Work may involve heat, cold, wind, dust, mud, water, uneven terrain, heights, electrical equipment, and operating agricultural machinery.
