Job Summary Redtail Ridge Dairy is a modern, family-owned dairy farm located east of Fond du Lac, WI. From their very first day, we closely monitor their health and well-being, ensuring each animal receives the attention and care at every stage of life. We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Calf & Heifer Assistant to join our dynamic agricultural team. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily care, management, and maintenance of young calves and livestock, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment where your hands-on skills and passion for animal care will make a real difference. You will play a key role in supporting the growth and development of livestock while maintaining high safety and operational standards across farm operations. Duties Assist with the daily feeding, watering, and health monitoring of calves and livestock, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration. Support animal husbandry activities including cleaning, bedding management, and general care to promote healthy growth. Operate farm machinery and equipment such as tractors, skid steers, UTV's, and power tools safely and efficiently. Perform routine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of farm equipment and machinery to minimize downtime. Handle manual tasks including lifting heavy loads, moving animals safely using appropriate handling techniques, and managing outdoor work environments. Support breeding programs by assisting with animal selection, record keeping, and growing experience activities. Lead the weekend calf team (alternating) Follow safety standards in all production processes to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members. Experience/Qualifications Experience in agricultural or farm settings, including animal care & modern machinery, preferred but not required; willingness to learn is highly valued. Positive & Team Oriented Attitude Outdoor work experience demonstrating comfort working in varying weather conditions. Basic math skills for inventory management, feed calculations, and record keeping related to animal husbandry.
