Job Description

THREE SPRINGS COMMUNITY FARM FIELD-LEAD POSITION
Three Springs Community Farm is currently accepting applications for the 2027 Biodynamic Vegetabel Field-Lead. This person will begin in October through December 2026, in order to overlap with our outgoing Field Lead, and go through the end of November 2027, with an option to continue ongoing.
Required Experience:
CSA or production farm field management (at least 2 full seasons). Team/crew management (at least 1 full season). Market farming equipment experience such as tractor work preferred. Three Springs Community Farm is a beautiful and secluded 80-acre ranch & Biodynamic Farm, in Sonoma County, California. We have approximately 3 acres in vegetables, managed with regenerative and Biodynamic Market Farming techniques. One field is tractored and the other is in walk-behind tractored raised beds. We currently serve a 50 Family CSA, with plans to expand to 70-100 members in the next few seasons. Three Springs Community Farm is a Biodynamic educational farm, with dairy goats, pigs, chickens and vegetables. The farm was founded in 2017 to be a learning farm and retreat for the students, families and faculty of Bay Area Waldorf Schools. We host school children and youth for farm trips each Spring and Fall. We look to the principles of Anthroposophy, Social Threefolding and Non-Violent Communication to guide our community work, endeavoring to practice love, compassion, and direct and compassionate communication. We work artistically to steward the land and practice arts together. The Field Lead position is a 40 hour position with leading roles guiding our 6 Interns in Vegetable Farming, CSA Coordination, Greenhouse Propagation & Irrigation. Our Field Lead also may lead break out groups of visiting students in farming and outdoor activities. Assistance is provided by our Operations Manager and Executive Director, with an annual crop plan provided. The Field Lead receives on-site trailer housing, farm produce, staple foods and a cash wage, equivalent to $28-$31 DOE. We offer 3 weeks of paid vacation between December and February, and 2 weeks of paid vacation at specific scheduled times each summer. State mandated sick time provided. Couples are welcome to apply. 10 hours per week of work trade is required for the additional family member to reside at the farm.
