This leadership role is responsible for managing the entire cultivation process from propagation through harvest while ensuring exceptional product quality, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and team development. The ideal candidate has extensive commercial cultivation experience, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of maximizing yield and quality in a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Manage all cultivation operations including cloning, propagation, vegetative growth, flowering, harvesting, drying, curing, and post-harvest processing. Develop and implement cultivation strategies to maximize yield, potency, terpene expression, and product consistency. Create and maintain nutrient, irrigation, fertigation, lighting, and environmental control schedules. Monitor plant health and diagnose nutrient deficiencies, pests, diseases, and environmental stressors. Develop and oversee Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs. Ensure all cultivation activities comply with state regulations, METRC requirements, SOPs, and company policies. Lead, train, schedule, and supervise cultivation staff while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork. Maintain inventory of nutrients, cultivation supplies, and equipment. Track production metrics, yields, labor efficiency, and crop performance. Coordinate with post-harvest, processing, packaging, and compliance departments. Oversee sanitation, biosecurity, and facility cleanliness. Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency while maintaining premium quality standards. Prepare cultivation reports and communicate operational updates to executive leadership. Qualifications 5+ years of commercial cannabis cultivation experience. 3+ years in a leadership or management role. Strong knowledge of cannabis genetics, plant physiology, irrigation systems, fertigation, environmental controls, HVAC systems, and lighting technologies. Experience with METRC or other seed-to-sale tracking systems. Proven experience developing SOPs and leading cultivation teams. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Preferred Qualifications Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related field (preferred but not required). Experience managing large-scale indoor cultivation facilities. Knowledge of automation systems and cultivation analytics. Experience improving yields through data-driven cultivation practices. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and work in warm, humid cultivation environments for extended periods.
