Overview Grain Elevator Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the outside grain storage system, the third-floor grain storage system, quality control of delivered and stored grains, operating scale house, and grain ticket entry/settlement. Must possess or obtain the ability to supervise employees, extensive knowledge of the outside grain system, the third floor and its drag/conveyer system, truck unloading process, grain management protocols, grain grading and testing procedures, and related computer systems. Responsibilities Grain elevator supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of all elevator and third-floor related equipment or tasks. Required to gain extensive knowledge of all aspects of the outside system, and its electrical control panels. This includes operating the receiving pit, operating all legs/drags, efficiently operating the distributor systems, operating dryer, operating outside aspiration/rotex cleaning system, operating bin spreaders in equipped bins, operating bin sweeps in equipped bins, properly unloading bins of grain, set up/operation/tear down of the portable alley way pit, operating lighting system for bin field, partaking in the cleaning process of all bins/legs/drags when necessary, and obtaining a general knowledge of the functionally/mechanics of all devices pertaining to the outside bin field system. Responsible for keeping the 3rd floor adequately stocked with all grains so they are readily available to the production team. Ensures or performs the scale in / scale out procedures for inbound shipments of grain. Ensure all shipments of grain are properly sampled and tested. Results are then recorded correctly on scale tickets. Utilizing computer programs to submit and settle received grain tickets. Utilizing computer programs to monitor grain inventory and grain contract balances. Coordinate with accounting team to ensure timely and accurate payments are made to grain suppliers. Responsible for taking samples of stored grains and recording results on appropriate paperwork for managerial review. Responsible for regularly taking an accurate inventory of all grains that are stored in each of the outside bins and the 3rd floor bins and reporting information to production manager. Coordinate with production manager to ensure grain shipment schedules are built in a timely and efficient manner. Coordinate with maintenance team, production supervisor, production manager, and elevator staff in instances of needed/scheduled/in progress upkeep or repairs to grain elevator or 3rd floor grain storage systems. Build and maintain professional relationships with local farmers, grain elevators, and grain carriers. Ensuring necessary information is relayed to these individuals. Oversee harvest operations. Maximizing grain throughput and efficiencies during grain harvest periods. Keep track of the level of the outside cull bin to ensure it does not overfill and is emptied regularly. Must gain general knowledge on insects/rodents that could be detrimental to grain quality and subsequently the finished products. Must also be very observant in order to catch pests as soon as possible. Oversee or takes part in custodial duties in regard to entire outside bin field, bin field buildings, the immediate area surrounding bin field, and 3rd floor grain storage system. Oversee operation or operate tractor to transport perished grains that are unsalvageable to the proper discard area. Gain general understanding of production related equipment, processes, products, and staff in an effort to be proactive in regards to upcoming grain needs. Possess solving skills, time management skills, and able to efficiently work in a fast-paced work environment. Efficiently and professionally communicate with fellow employees and management on topics related to job duties. Become certified for fork truck operation through Scott Pet Inc. Will be required to use fork trucks when necessary. Must be willing to train other employees when necessary. Operates with personal, and others', safety in mind when performing all tasks Must be willing to take on other tasks as assigned. Qualifications Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.; requires sufficient upper body strength Must be able to work at heights up to 125 feet Must be able to spend 8 to 10 hours walking and be able to make several trips up and down stairs Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication of skills The ability to work independently and as a team. Pay:

$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
