Job Description Job Description:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a progressive dairy operation located in Michigan who is searching for an experienced Herd Manager or a motivated dairy professional who is ready to grow into the position. This newly created role will focus on reproduction, herd health, employee accountability, and consistent implementation of protocols. The Herd Manager will work closely with the owner, who remains actively involved in daily operations. The employer is open to candidates with varying levels of experience and is willing to train the right individual who has a solid dairy background, leadership potential, and a desire to take on greater responsibility.

This position will also oversee fresh cow management and support maternity and hospital departments through department leads. Responsibilities include monitoring herd health, ensuring treatment and vaccination protocols are followed, and working with the veterinarian, nutritionist, owner, and management team to improve herd performance. The Herd Manager will supervise employees, reinforce SOPs, provide training, and ensure daily responsibilities are completed. This individual will also assist with developing and improving protocols, maintaining accurate records, managing pharmaceutical inventory, and helping with minor equipment upkeep as needed.
