to oversee the daily operations of our cattle and crop farm. This is a hands-on position requiring someone who leads by example and works alongside the crew. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of cattle operations, fencing, water systems, equipment maintenance, and employee leadership. Responsibilities
Manage and participate in the daily operation of the farm.
Lead, train, and supervise farm employees while maintaining a productive and safe work environment.
Follow directions from ownership while taking initiative to organize and complete daily tasks.
Install and maintain underground water lines to livestock watering systems.
Plan, build, repair, and maintain continuous perimeter fencing, cross fencing, gates, and corrals.
Oversee grazing management to maximize pasture productivity.
Manage cattle handling, including feeding, vaccinations, weighing, branding, tagging, sorting, record keeping, pulling calfs when needed and maintaining reliable water sources.
Operate, maintain, and repairing tractors and skid steers, loaders, hay equipment, dozer, seed cart, grain cart and other farm machinery/equipment.
Assist with planting, hay production, harvesting, and other crop-related activities. including maintaining weed control and control the growth of trees.
Ensure farm vehicles and equipment are fueled, serviced, and ready for daily use.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient farm operation.
Complete other duties as needed to support the success of the farm. Qualifications
Previous experience managing a cattle and crop operation.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct employees.
Strong knowledge of installing underground livestock water systems.
Experience building and maintaining continuous fence and cross fencing.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair farm equipment.
Ability to operate a variety of agricultural equipment safely and efficiently.
Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to follow instructions, make sound decisions, and work independently.
Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus. Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed during busy seasons. Additional Qualifications
Experience safely operating large agricultural equipment, including high-horsepower tractors, combines, bulldozers, skid steers, loaders, and other heavy farm machinery.
Ability to perform routine maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, and complete basic repairs on farm equipment.
Comfortable operating heavy equipment in varying terrain and weather conditions while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
