Job Description

Legacy Farmers Cooperative is seeking an experienced Agronomy Operations Manager to lead and oversee daily agronomy operations at our Custar location. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable operations while delivering exceptional service to our customers and supporting the growth and success of our agronomy business. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with agricultural operations experience who can manage people, improve processes, maintain a strong safety culture, and ensure our facility is prepared to meet the demands of the farming season. Position Overview The Agronomy Operations Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and management of agronomy operations, including product handling, blending, loading, inventory management, equipment readiness, and application support. This role provides leadership to the agronomy operations team while partnering with sales and management to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve business objectives. Key Responsibilities Operations Leadership Lead daily agronomy operations including fertilizer blending, chemical handling, loading, product movement, and application support Ensure the facility, equipment, and employees are prepared to safely meet seasonal demands Oversee inventory control, product transfers, and accurate operational records Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and control costs Coordinate preventative maintenance and ensure equipment remains safe and operational Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry requirements Collaborate with other Legacy Farmers Cooperative locations to support company-wide operational needs Team Leadership & Development Supervise, train, and develop agronomy operations employees Provide daily direction, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress to ensure work is completed efficiently Coach employees through performance feedback, accountability, and ongoing development Build a positive team culture focused on safety, reliability, and customer service Ensure employees follow all company policies, procedures, and safety expectations Customer & Business Support Support a high level of customer service through timely and accurate operations Partner with agronomy sales staff to meet customer needs and support business growth Help maintain strong customer relationships through dependable service and operational excellence Ensure compliance with company policies related to inventory, credit, and operational procedures Financial & Operational Performance Support location profitability through effective labor management, cost control, and efficient operations Assist with budgeting, forecasting, purchasing, and operational planning Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and increase efficiency Maintain accurate records related to inventory, operations, and reporting Qualifications Previous experience in agronomy, agriculture operations, or a related industry preferred Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team Strong understanding of agronomy operations, equipment, and agricultural practices Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain Commercial Pesticide Applicator License, or the ability to obtain Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records Ability to work extended hours during peak agricultural seasons Additional Information Standard schedule is Monday-Friday with additional hours required during planting, application, and harvest seasons Work environment includes office, agronomy facility, and field settings Competitive compensation package based on experience, qualifications, and licenses
Pay:
Up to $100,000.00 per year
