Simple Adventures is Michigan's premier outdoor recreation company providing a multi-faceted operation including kayak, sup, canoe and bike rentals; guided tours and classes; corporate, group and team building events; along with a robust retail and food service program. Simple Adventures is seeking a highly energetic, self-motivated individual who is passionate about outdoor recreation. This candidate should have a charismatic personality, exceptional work ethic, vision, and dedication to becoming an integral part of a core team. The mission of Simple Adventures is to provide access for people of all ages and background to the outdoors. This mission is accomplished by offering low-cost, hands-on vibrant programs. Retail & Foodservice Job Duties:
Cashier and customer transactions
General inventory replenishment
Food line prep
Ice Cream
Maintain POS and cash drawer
Perform opening and closing reports at start and end of the day Waterfront & Rentals (where applicable)
Job Duties:
Assist customers with the rental process of kayaks, paddle boards, canoes and bikes.
Explain proper safety rules/guidelines to customers.
Ensure customers out in the water are following our safety rules/guidelines
Provide each guest with superior customer experience
Follow company policies and procedures
Clean boats and equipment, load and unload boats from racks
Maintain POS and cash drawer
POS and Software proficient
Assist in special events
Seasonal hours are demanding and expected, from May thru September.
Maintain proper safety rules/guidelines with staff and customers.
Provide each guest with superior customer experience
Assist in maintenance and repair all equipment.
Perform opening and closing reports at start and end of the day
Other duties as assigned

Creates any needed data in the form of letters, memorandums, proposals or reports

Enjoy dealing with the public
Desire to share passion of the water sports
Able to swim
CPR certification a plus
ACA Certification a plus
Great verbal communication skills
Highly responsible and reliable
Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions, such as heat, cold, and/or rain
Requirements:
Must have a valid Driver's License
Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
Must have the ability to bend, stoop, and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to work long hours outdoors, no A/C or heat
Work in wet conditions
Withstanding temperature extremes in outdoor environments and inclement weather year-round
Ability to stand for entire work day
Candidate must successfully pass mandatory background check and drug-screen, in accordance to local government, in order to be considered

Additional Information:
All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities.
All staff must complete a Livery and Boaters Safety Course (provided at locations where applicable).
All staff must complete a Food Handler Safety Training (provided at locations where applicable)
During peak season, daily operations are 7 days a week 9:00am-9:00pm weather permitting. Off-season hours will vary
Must be available to work weekends and holidays during peak season. Off-season days will vary.
