Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Farm Harvest Manager to lead our seasonal harvesting operations with enthusiasm and precision. This vital role involves overseeing the entire harvest process, ensuring that all farm produce is gathered efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive farm experience, and a passion for sustainable agriculture. As a key team member, you will coordinate harvest schedules, manage equipment and personnel, and uphold safety protocols to deliver exceptional results during peak harvest periods. Key ResponsibilitiesCrew Supervision Hire, train, schedule, and supervise seasonal harvest crews ([X]-[X] employees), including combine operators, grain cart operators, and truck drivers Set daily assignments, run safety briefings, and hold crew accountable to quality and productivity standards Train new and international/H-2A crew members on equipment operation, safety protocols, and company procedures Manage crew housing, travel logistics, and timekeeping across multiple states Resolve personnel issues quickly and professionally in a demanding, long-hours environment Harvest Operations Plan and sequence the harvest run based on crop maturity, weather, and customer commitments Serve as the primary point of contact for customers — set expectations, provide updates, and resolve concerns Monitor cutting quality, header height, ground speed, and grain loss; adjust settings to minimize loss and maximize throughput Coordinate grain hauling to elevators, bins, and delivery points; track loads, scale tickets, and moisture Track acres cut, hours run, and yields; maintain accurate daily records for billing Equipment Management Oversee the maintenance, service, and readiness of combines, headers, grain carts, tractors, semis, trailers, and support vehicles Schedule preventive maintenance and manage in-season repairs to minimize downtime Maintain parts inventory and coordinate with dealers and parts suppliers on the road Oversee equipment transport between jobs, including DOT compliance, permits, and load securement Track equipment hours, service history, fuel usage, and repair costs Safety & Compliance Enforce all safety policies, including PPE, lockout/tagout, fire prevention, and grain handling procedures Ensure DOT compliance for drivers — CDL status, logs, inspections, and hours of service Maintain compliance with OSHA and applicable agricultural labor regulations Investigate and report incidents; drive a culture where nobody takes shortcuts Qualifications Required 2+ years in agricultural operations, with at least 2 years supervising crews Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting combines and harvest support equipment Working mechanical knowledge — hydraulics, drivelines, belts, bearings, and basic diagnostics Valid driver's license Willing and able to travel for extended periods during harvest season Able to work long hours in heat, dust, and variable conditions when the crop is ready Preferred Custom harvest experience across multiple states and crop types Experience with precision ag and yield monitoring systems (John Deere Operations Center, Case IH AFS, Trimble, etc.) Bilingual English/Spanish Experience managing H-2A or seasonal visa workers Familiarity with grain marketing basics, moisture standards, and elevator procedures Welding and fabrication skills Join us as a Farm Harvest Manager to lead our dedicated team through an exciting season of growth!
