Field Operator II

Job Description

Overview The Field Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of wells and field equipment while following established operating and safety procedures. This role focuses on monitoring wells and equipment, identifying operational issues, performing basic maintenance, supporting wellwork activities, and ensuring reliable day-to-day field operations. Responsibilities Operate and continuously monitor wells and field equipment. Perform routine field inspections and identify abnormal operating conditions. Troubleshoot well and equipment issues and implement corrective actions when appropriate. Perform basic maintenance and equipment care activities. Monitor alarms, emergency systems, and emergency shutdown systems. Coordinate and monitor preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Maintain accurate logbooks, shift reports, and operational documentation. Communicate equipment conditions, operational events, and issues during shift changes. Take product samples for laboratory analysis and perform field testing. Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and emergency response activities. Report incidents, equipment problems, and operational deviations. Monitor well production rates and assist with diagnosing producing problems. Ensure wellheads and surface equipment are maintained and in good working condition. Provide assistance and support during Wellwork operations. Maintain strong communication with supervisors and field personnel. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent/secondary education. Previous Field Technician experience. Strong knowledge of pipeline operations. Knowledge of wells, production equipment, and field operations. Basic mechanical and maintenance skills. Strong understanding of safety, health, environmental, and operational procedures. Knowledge of emergency preparedness and response procedures. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to accurately document operational activities and abnormal conditions. Knowledge of applicable regulations, project specifications, and operational requirements. Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR, agility and fit for duty.
