Position Summary :

Performs visual and dimensional inspections of finished product to ensure quality and customer standards have been met.

Role Description :

Inspection of Engineered Stone materials based on quality specifications. Position includes operation of overhead crane and movement of finished slabs as well as WIP. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toed shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Responsibilities:

Examines materials or product for surface defects Verify specified dimensions of product or material Rejects defective product and tracks type of defect Confers with leadership staff to determine quality and reliability standards Operates any diagnostic equipment needed to perform job Performs related duties as needed and assigned Documents all results and findings of above information Manual operation of overhead crane Manual & Automatic operation of slab trolleys Competent operation of Lift truck / Fork lift

Education and Work Experience :

Will be relied upon to make quick and sound decisions regarding communication of product issues

Qualifications :

Listed below are the minimum and/or desired qualifications of the position including education, work experience and knowledge & skills that are required to perform satisfactorily in the position: Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Previous quality and or inspection experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills :

Ability to communicate both verbal and written Ability to recognize potential problems to prevent issues Ability to make decisions quickly Ability to perform duties without constant supervision Ability to perform simple math - addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions and percentages) Must have a strong attention to detail Must have the ability to distinguish between colors and patterns

Physical Demands :

May encounter the following chemicals: High amounts of Silica dust Powdered pigments Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required Ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time. Ability to work overtime hours as needed with little or no notification.
